The G&VL (Gaming and Visualization Laboratory) Laboratory was established in 2008 with the direction of Dr. Leon Deligiannidis. The faculty group was further strengthened by the addition of Dr. Tom Goulding. We have been actively involved in research projects in the areas of Virtual Reality and Gaming applied to Therapeutic Medicine, and Information Visualization. Our students working in our lab frequently do internships in industry, enter competitions, and get involved in publishing research results in international conferences. In addition, G&VL provides an environment where students can design, work on the aesthetics, and play the games they design. Students use the latest technologies for their games that can be played on PCs and the XBox360. Input devices from Nintendo's Wii and Sony's PlayStation are used as well as custom devices that are built for Game-User Interaction. |
